Plastic coins are inexpensive and easy to find at most party stores. Because they are so lightweight they're a snap to work with. I used some white string and a hot glue gun and glued the coins (back-to-back) to create a garland across the mantle. I love how they sparkle in the light!
Another way to use these is to hang them from the ceiling, doorway or chandelier above the dining table...
I found my coins at the party store.
You could also use colored ribbon in place of the string, swag them along a staircase or surround a door frame.
Don't have the time to make this yourself? The gelt garland is now for sale in my Etsy shop!
