Welcome to Flowers on the First!
There's only about five weeks of summer left here in the Northeast. We might get a few "Indian summer" days in September, but by Labor Day the weather has changed-- there is a coolness in the air we haven't felt since May.
When I see the sunflowers out in full bloom I know that the time has come for summer to start winding down. I've been seeing sunflowers everywhere--in neighbor's gardens, garden centers, and local farmer markets.
