Spring Mantel

Spring has sprung in the Northeast! Every day there's something new--pansies at our garden center, crocuses pushing up through the soil. I don't always have luck with plants indoors, but I decided to make an exception and create a Spring Decorated Mantel.
My inspiration for the mantel stemmed from all things spring: bulbs pushing up through the soil, that beautiful, fresh, new green color, birds chirping and flowering trees. So I used all three in my mantel decor.

I found these little guys at the dollar store.
Nothing a coat of white paint can't fix. The adorable nest is from Michael's.
I love colored especially.
Although I usually try to use fresh flowers, our trees won't be flowering for another month or so.
I used silk blossoms and hot-glued them to real branches from my yard. By using real branches and stones in the glass container, the blossoms look much more realistic.

Happy Spring!

  5. The painted bird looks great - why don't I ever think of that? I love your blue Ball jars - I recently started my own collection.

  6. Hello! I featured your post in a blog series I started about how to decorate with color called Get Your Color On. I love how fresh and natural your mantle is so I highlighted in my post about welcoming spring with green in decor. Feel free to grab my button!
