Thanksgiving Table

I am hosting Thanksgiving this year and my favorite part of the holiday is the table d├ęcor. I love to use contrasts in decorating—sleek and modern against distressed antiques, dark colors with light, shiny surfaces against rough. So, this year, I decided to go with the contrast of the glitz of gold with raw burlap.
The gold cut paper on the candle covers add shimmer while the burlap adds rough texture. I found the burlap at my hardware store. It was sold in the garden department since it is used for wrapping shrubs during the cold winter months.   
The gold plate chargers are from the dollar store.
I had some preserved leaves leftover from another project and used those for placecard/napkins rings.
The centerpiece was put together with items from the supermarket (artichoke, pears and chrysanthemums). The bittersweet berries grow wild all over Connecticut and the fern houseplant was taken from another room and was incorporated into the centerpiece.
