After ten days of no power and four more of no internet we are finally back to normal. Yeesh.
Our friends are throwing a L’Chaim, or engagement party for their son and his fiancĂ©. I was excited when they asked me to “decorate” the candy table.
The first thing I made to display some of the candy was this four-leveled stand.
It’s made from plastic saucers I found at Lowe’s, sold in the garden department. They are actually made for placing under a flower pot to protect floors and tables from water damage.
I used four saucers—from a 6-inch for the top, to a 14-inch for the bottom. I like these particular saucers because they are much thicker and studier than most.
I wandered around Lowe’s and ended up in the plumbing department where I found cylinder shaped PVC pieces to use for the stems between each saucer. They were 2 ½ inches long so I glued two together to make them 5 inches high.
Next, I wrapped them in white paper.
Stop back on Monday to see how great this will look filled with candy and check out the entire table ready for the party!
