Candleholder Covers for the Thanksgiving Table

Thanksgiving is only one week away so it's time to start planning my table decor as well as the menu. Although it's too early to cook, it's not to early to make the decorations.

When I saw this nifty Martha Stewart decorative paper punch at Michaels I knew it would be perfect to create candle covers for the table. I first tried it using thin paper and it didn't work very well but with scrapbooking paper (which is closer to card stock) it works perfectly. The key is to precut the paper into strips, then feed it into the paper punch.
After all my strips were done I wrapped the glass votives in pale pink tissue paper using a spray mount to stick the tissue to the glass. The last step was to wrap the punched paper strips around the glass votive and tape in place with double sided tape.
These will be perfect on the Thanksgiving table!
